Presbyterian Women (PW) is an organisation for women within the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. In Sloan Street Presbyterian Church our vision is ‘making and growing disciples of Jesus’. This is the vision of our PW too.
Jesus said “Go and make disciples” (Matthew28:9).
Disciples are followers of Jesus. As a group of women committed to following Jesus, our desire is to encourage more women to do the same. PW presents an opportunity for women to make friends and spend time together, to develop new relationships and strengthen existing ones. It allows women to ‘do life’ together and walk with each other in a Christward direction
We get together once a month on Monday evenings at 7.45pm in Sloan Street Church Hall (adjacent to The Galley). The programme consisting of a variety of speakers, topics and activities lasts around an hour or so. Afterwards, there’s always time to chat and catch up over a cuppa! From time to time we have special events as well as enjoying a meal out together.
Our theme for 2018/2019 is Beautiful based on Psalm 27:4:
“… One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple’.
Focusing on this theme, we want women to look deeper into the beauty of God’s love and grace. Our prayer is that we would each reflect the beauty of the Lord through our actions, words and attitudes and be an influence on our families, friends and communities.
Women of all ages and their friends are welcome to come along. Have a look at our programme on the calendar of events and plan to join us. We’d love you to be part of our women’s ministry as we meet, respond to and share God’s love!
